  1. Hello all. Ive signed up to the property hub looking for advice. I recently attentended a free rich dad seminar which I'm sure a lot of you have probably heard of. After the the 2 hours I decided to pay for the 3 day training course. I left with the free tablet and then proceeded to research the course. And ultimately decided get a refund. Speaking to to customer services, I was advised as to what to do to get my refund, which was basically to return the tablet and fill out the refund form and return it with the tablet.   3. Good day Hubbers, Can anyone recommend a good mortgage adviser or broker for a BTL in Bolton?   4. Hi everyone, I'm in a predicament and could do with some advice...? So, I have 1 BTL mortgage at the moment and am saving hard to get a second. I have about £12000 saved already for my next property and figure I will need another £13000 (£25000 in total) before I can buy my 2nd buy to let property. By my calculations it would take me till November/December 2018 to save up the full amount, so I am contemplating getting a loan for this? We have been adviced by a financial advisor to move the property into a Limited Company and then mortgage agianst that for deposits on Buy-to-Lets which we are very keen to do. Hi, I'm new to property investing and would appreciate some advice, accidentally fell into property 9 years ago not knowing anything, I have two joint mortgages (1 btl and 1 residential which my mum resides in, mortgage term ends in 6years).   9. Good Morning All Property Investors, Up until now my strategy has been to buy properties to let, growing my portfolio organically by reinvesting any capital growth and excess rent. I started in property in 2015 and I now have 3 properties in Buckinghamshire, not an aggressive strategy but one that at this time works for me. If I can get the same yield, regardless of size, I'm really interested to hear people's opinions on whether larger investments are better or worse than smaller. I'm attracted to smaller purchases as it's easier to find cash for the next deposit. I can grow my portfolio more steadily and making more purchases means I can learn more and make better decisions over time.   11. Hi, I am going through the process of buying my first BTL property. I had a homebuyers report completed last week and got the results today. The surveyor says that they understand the property is being sold on a leasehold basis. I was never made aware of this and I (rather stupuidly) presumed it was freehold. Does anyone know if I should have been made aware that it was leasehold or is it up to me to have found that out before making an offer? It was never mentioned in the brochure. Thanks Matt

I'll set the scene for you first: - 3-bed, first-floor tenement flat in Marchmont, Edinburgh (the ones with the high ceilings, ornate cornicing, and bay windows) - bought in Nov 2014 as a dingy student flat, which we've been living in and renovating simultaneously (not recommended) to a very high spec. - remaining work is sanding and painting window and door woodwork, lining and painting the walls/ceilings, putting down carpet, and attaching new light fittings, curtains, and maybe some small other bits - fixed rat
  17. Hello I'm in the process of remortgaging a property to a buy to let. I will have 100% of the property in my name. As everyone knows, over the next few years the tax relief is changing. I was looking for information on splitting the rent. As I'm a higher rate tax payer, I'm going to get hit with 40% which is not ideal. My mother has recently retired, so is it possible for her to rent out the property and get taxed on her rate? If possible, would she have to be on the title deeds? Thanks Howie

For example: If a SPV limited company has 2 shareholders (one of which is a director) but each have 50% of voting shares, is the director the only person being assessed and has to meet criteria?
