  1. Hey All, I am just about to begin investing in my own property portfolio. I have now saved enough for a deposit on my initial buy-to-let property (at last). I work for a property developer specialising in student accommodation on a national level. I am a chartered project management surveyor with the RICS. So, I have plenty of relevant experience in developments with GDV's ranging from £1m up to over £100m. Currently, I am managing two projects in Sheffield due to complete in September 2017. One a 63 bed studio apartment development, and the other 130 bed development of

  3. Hello, I’m 22 years old from Sheffield and currently working as an architectural assistant before beginning my master’s degree in September, with the intention of becoming an architect in the future. Having read rich dad poor dad and richest man in Babylon when I was around 18 my mindset towards money was altered early, but I stupidly failed to implement any of the principles whilst I was at university. I unsurprisingly have an interested in buildings/construction in general but from an early age it was programs on TV that sparked an interest in properties specifically.
  4. Hello All, I am new to property - and this site so will take a brief moment to introduce myself; My brother and I live and work in London but plan to build a property portfolio up north. We are currently exploring Sheffield, possibly Rotherham, to start with because its our hometown - but are very open to other location recommendations? We have in region of £40-50k to invest, are both time poor and so will not be managing these properties ourselves. We are potentially looking at Private Sector Leasing to Local authority as an option to get the ball rolling with the int
  5. Hi all, I'm new to the site and to property. Whilst I currently live in Sydney I'm looking to get my first investment in early to mid 2017. My plan is invest in a buy to let as my first property. I grew up in Derby and whilst I don't have a great impression of how the local market there is performing or will perform I am interested in looking at Nottingham and Sheffield, both very close and where I have some existing friend networks. Leeds was another thought but I haven't researched it yet. I'm probably looking at spending anywhere between £100,000 and £200,000 for my first property a
  6. Hi everyone! I'm 22 and have just completed my Marketing degree at Sheffield Hallam University. I'm not going to lie, this is my first experience on a property forum like this (as I only discovered it today!). But it's been really interesting to hear from so many different people about their stories etc. and I'll definitely trying to spend more time here. I want to be a property investor myself in the future so I'm just trying to gain knowledge before I jump into it. So much to learn . The goal is to have around 5 BTL's by the time I'm 30. Quite an ambitious goal I feel because I
  7. Hi guys Can anyone recommend a letting agent that operates in Sheffield and why? Further, if there are any to really steer clear of then why so? Would love any advice you can give and thanks in advance guys
  8. Hi there, I'm looking for a property sourcer in Sheffield. If you have any contacts or are yourself active in the Sheffield area, I'd love to hear from you. I'm looking primarily in S2 but also branching out into S13, S12. Many thanks, Anneka
  9. Hi, my name is Mark. Born and bred in Sheffield and currently holidaying in Crete where I've just read 100 property tips and am half way through 'Beyond the Bricks'. I currently own 5 rental properties in Sheffield, started in 2008 and have acquired a new property whenever adequate funds became available. Better than throwing it into a typical pension account I'm sure you would all agree. Until reading these books I've always considered myself to be a loner when it comes to property investing, not considering whether there were local groups who were interested in the same thing. So my fi
  10. Hello there, I thought it’s finally about time that I introduced myself on this forum. I’ve been visiting here regularly for around half a year now but never introduced myself properly so here we go. I’m 17, based in Sheffield and am an aspiring Property Developer/Real Estate Entrepreneur/Wholesaler. I’ve been interested in property from a young age and have slowly been building myself a foundation of knowledge and skills to hopefully begin fulfilling my aspirations when I turn 18. I will not have enough money to invest or develop initially so I am trying to focus on flipping and w
  11. Hi everyone, My name is Paul and I am a freelance graphic designer based in Mansfield. My dad and I have managed to save up some money and we're considering doing a buy to let. I have a mortgage on my home and my income is tiny (due to early stages of freelance start up). I'm hoping to land a property near where I live so I can manage it myself. My research appears to be steering me in the direction of Nottingham. More than likely I will be going in at the lower end of the market and I was wondering what types of people are best to rent to within the Nottingham area (students, dss, profess
  12. Hi there A friend of mine is having an absolute nightmare with an agent in Sheffield, so just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for an lettings agent over there? Any suggestions/experiences would be welcome thanks Dave
