  1. Hi Everyone I've recently started my property education journey and I'm keen to know what resources you listen to/read on a regular basis that help inform your decisions. For example, press releases, various housing reports, government info, lending, banking, taxes etc. I know that traditional media is not necessarily a great resource so I'm keen to get under the skin of the industry a bit, and would love your help! Thanks so much, Lindsay
  2. Hi. Just ordered all book from Rob. Can you tell me in what order should I read it? Thanks!
  3. Hi All, I know very little about the physical aspects of property and wouldn't know where to start with a renovation or refurb... I'm wondering if there are any book or resource recommendations that would give me the basics? Not looking for the depth that would allow me to carry out the work - but just to have a better idea of what was going on! Many thanks
  4. Hey! As the title suggests I am looking for recommendations of resources of informations in regards to flipping and renovating houses. Anything from books, podcasts and websites would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Martin
  5. Hello, Does any one have any recommended resources for managing and acquiring commercial property? e.g. Books, forums, podcasts communities etc? I've done the usual Amazon search, but these look very legal based: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Commercial-Property-Legal-Practice-Guides/dp/1912363135/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_14_img_0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=17YMG7FQNEQPKCCDMQ4E The Robs have done a few podcasts on Commercial, http://thepropertyhub.net/tpp117-how-to-get-started-in-commercial-property/ but 98% of content here is resi. Thanks Ed Davidson
  6. A total geek-out for The Robs this week as they're both bookworms. This week they take a look at non-property books which can make you a better investor, and this is well worth checking out. Rob B gives us a brief teaser of his first investment of the year, more to come on that in a future episode! Listen to The Robs at the Tropical MBA Podcast Our favourite podcast other than this one has to be the Tropical MBA Podcast and if you haven't checked it out yet then why ever not? Now is a great time to dive into this one though as you can listen to Rob and Rob in conversation with TMBA in episode 377: How does your business feel? House prices set to rise for the next 50 years and outstrip incomes even further, warns ex-Bank of England economist Our news story this week is exactly as the headline suggests. Rob D has a note of scepticism and explains why, but as Rob B mentions, we make plenty of predictions here at The Hub ourselves! Take a look at the full story here. It's Meetup night and Rob D is off to the seaside! It's Meetup night and Rob D is heading to the seaside to the re-launch of the Brighton Meetup. Get your free ticket here if you would like to join him this evening. Meetups will take place across the country tonight (and in Copenhagen and Hong Kong too), and if you'd like to find your nearest venue, just check out the details over on the website. Resource of the week This week's episode is one huge resource of the week and here are all the links mentioned. Arnold Schwarzenegger - Total recall Inspiring! But did you know Arnie made his money through property before he was famous? How to fail at almost everything and still win big - Scott Adams Lessons: Talent stacking, systems v goals Tools of Titans - Tim Ferriss Lessons: Loads - from top performers in all fields The Subtle Art of not giving a f*** – Mark Manson Lesson: Perspective and not being bothered by small stuff “In life, we have a limited amount of f***s to give. So you must choose your f***s wisely.” Delivering Happiness - Tony Hsieh Deliver service like this in property and you’ll stand out for all the right reasons
  7. Hello I'm looking for the best app to listen to podcasts on? It's for an iPhone. Also, what is the best audio book resource? I'm tempted to sign up for the 30day audible free trial. However you only get one free book a month, I'm looking for something like Netflix for Audio books if anyone knows of one? Thanks Howie
  8. We've given out plenty of book recommenations on the podcast - now I'm looking for yours in return! If you've read anything good recently (property/finance related or not) please let me know so I can fill up my Amazon wishlist To get the ball rolling, I've just read: "How I Found Freedom in an Unfree World" by Harry Browne - it was written in 1976, but the ideas are still totally relevant today (except maybe the bits about phonograph records). I think its pragmatic philosophy will appeal to investors a lot. "Rubicon" by Tom Holland - a history of the Roman Republic which doesn't feel like a history book at all Your turn!
  9. At the back of Beyond The Bricks I promised a thread in the Hub where we could talk about it and ask questions - so here it is! Note: This thread isn't to fish for praise for the book - just to discuss the lessons and stories within it! What was the biggest lesson you took away from the book? Which investor would you most like to replicate the performance of? Do you have any questions after reading it? Everyone seems to resonate with a different story, so I'll be very interested to hear what everyone thinks.
  10. I've just made the audio version of my first book, Property Investment For Beginners, available on Audible - and to help me promote it, they've given me some free promo codes. And who better to benefit from them than you lovely Hubbers? You just need to sign up for an Audible account and enter the code to download the book for free - then you can listen to it on your iPhone, MP3 player, laptop or pretty much anywhere else. All I ask in return is that you leave an honest review on Audible, which will help me to make more sales in the future. So if you'd like to listen to the book, just leave a comment below and I'll email your unique code and download instructions to the email address we have on file for you!
