  1. Recently opened up a joint bank account with another investor only to find out he has "adverse credit". I did obtain his credit report prior to doing so and his credit score was average. I did notice he had a couple of late payments back in 2013 but i didn't think anything off it. It recently come to light when my mortgage broker was trying to apply for a decision in principle in our joint names to find out he is being branded as "adverse credit". My broker advised me to close the bank account immediately and so i have done. The account was only active for about 12 days, so my question is will this affect me applying for a mortgage in my sole name? As we are no longer financially associated.
  2. Although I'm nowhere near it yet, my ultimate goal is to use my BTLs as an income platform to allow me to spend time in different parts of the world, in a similar manner to the Honourable Mr Dix. As such, I'm interested in any experience or advice from Forum members who've already made that move. Some areas of specific interest include: - How to you accommodate physical mail - assuming there's no permanent address, what do you do about essential post that cannot be converted to email? - How do lenders view 'no fixed abode'? Is this a total no-no, or are there ways around it? - Other credit checks. Does being a 'wandering world citizen' totally trash your credit record? Has anyone found a way of mitigating this? What other areas are potentially damaging? Are there any general strategies I should put into place early on? Thanks in advance for your thoughts Steve
