Hi All, My name is Garry and I have been reading the forums for the past few months, around October myself (work in Property Management, Factoring and FM over the past 10 years) and my father in law (worked in construction for over 20 years) formed a company in the UK. The goal of the company was to generate revenue to purchase property assets - with a goal to use that revenue to replace our full-time jobs. We have been Middle East expats for over 35 years between us. What you've done in property so far I have worked in Property Management, Facility Management and Factoring (Owners Association) for years and looking to use these skills to generate revenue to reinvest in property. We have recently purchased our first flat in the UK (Cash Purchase, circa 8% returns) and are developing a villa in Spain. Currently working on a business plan to set up and grow the company for Q3/4 2017 and beyond. What areas you invest in (or want to invest in) Currently, we looked (and purchased) in the Lanarkshire area of Scotland, our families are from this area and it is well known to us. In the future we are open to several areas however I believe the initial focus will be to grow a portfolio in the same area. What your plans are for the future Plans are to develop revenue streams (on top of our contributions from salary) to compound capital to allow to purchase assets. The first goal is to purchase 5 properties within the next 3-5 years depending on how quickly we can grow. Approx 5,000GBP per month rental with little debt is the first target. Any skills or knowledge you've got that other members might benefit from I am sure others are more experienced than myself however there is management, financial and expat experience if anyone wants to connect and discuss. Hi, I'm new here and new to the whole concept of property investments. I'm based out of Abu Dhabi / Dubai, in the UAE. I manage Information (Cyber) Security for a living. I want to work towards a passive cashflow/income through property investments in the UAE and abroad as well. Hello everyone! After managing my father's property for the past 3 years and getting a real knack for it, it was only a matter of time before I delved into the property scene on a professional level too. At 25, I'm now looking at my property investment options by Q4 of this year. The Property Hub is a new channel for me, one that I've only been following for a couple months but I already can't get enough of the topics and issues that are tackled each week. As an International Property Investment Consultant, it's really helped me understand many issues that expats living in the UAE are having and barriers to entry they create when it comes to investing internationally (mostly within their native countries). With over 10 years experience in the property investment market, dealing with both novice and experienced investors I have picked up a little on the way. In launching my own Property Finder service I thought I would be able to assist others with their searches. There is much debate about what is hot and what is not so I just wondered what people think will be the most financially beneficial property locations in the UK in the next year or two. Especially bearing in mind the new tax changes as well as transport infrastructure improvements. There are certainly some great opportunities but will the now only appeal to 'professional' investors? Lots to consider and hopefully I can point people in the right direction. Interested to hear people's thoughts?

Hi, I’m a long-long-time listener to the podcast and finally got round to introducing myself on the forum. I’ve been in Dubai for four years after moving from London, and have one property in London and one in Poland (where my wife is from). My wife and I have got some money together for a next investment and have been considering UK, Dubai itself, or Poland. Each market has advantages and disadvantages and they are all at a very different points in the cycle. Our plan is to invest in property alongside other assets to enable us to work less in future and let the investments work for us instead. Yep, that financial freedom thing! I work in equity research, but please don’t let that put you off. I’m not rabidly pro property or pro stock market – I think they both complement each other quite nicely. Interested to share views and advice with people on the forum or in person, especially those in Dubai. Looking forward to the upcoming meetup! Cheers, Ian

Hi All, Your wisdom please. I am an expat living in Dubai and thinking of investing further in property. I have about 50,000 pounds i want to invest and could do with your input on ideas. My first choice is to buy a place out here where we live with a view of renting it out once we are back in UK. I considered renting and buying a BTL here and the monthly outgoings are roughly the same in both scenarios. But I could do with second opinions on this and if back in the UK, I'd prefer London but prices seem steep on a BTL mortgage. Thanks
