  1. Property education - have you paid for any, has it been worth it, have they delivered, have you made more because of it? I'd be grateful of any comments either specific or general. Thanks.
  2. Hi Everyone I've recently started my property education journey and I'm keen to know what resources you listen to/read on a regular basis that help inform your decisions. For example, press releases, various housing reports, government info, lending, banking, taxes etc. I know that traditional media is not necessarily a great resource so I'm keen to get under the skin of the industry a bit, and would love your help! Thanks so much, Lindsay
  3. We are in the process of buying a btl with a little added bonus - a small building plot for 2 small houses on a derelict plot of land that comes with the house. The intention is to build, refinance and let. We are full of good intentions and need to keep momentum. We are not expecting to complete for another 2 - 3 months (probate, covid etc). We want to use this time to educate ourselves on building houses - we won't be doing much of the work ourselves but know that we want to project manage rather than have a turnkey build. We've had a general google - does anyone have any recommendations for books and websites that will help us in building our knowledge? Also if anyone has any experience of doing similar, we would be really grateful for you to share any tips or pitfalls. Many thanks Helen (and Steve)
  4. Good evening all, I am Grant Jones, I am 30 years old and live in the south east of Essex. I have a wife and a baby daughter and these are the reasons I am here. To help look after their futures. My wife and I have a good sum of equity in our own property and we have some extremely close friends who have an established property business seeing properties around Manchester (mainly areas such as Salford and Eccles). I am planning on reading and educating myself as much as possible before I dive into this venture and have a 12 month target to own and let a second property in this area. I am reading the richest man in Babylon and have currently spent time listening to both of the Rob’s on the property podcast, coupled with their online courses in goal setting and choosing a strategy, which I have found to be incredibly motivating and useful over the last couple of weeks. The strategy that appeals most to me would be a buy, refurb and refinance option. Gaining a portfolio of multiple single let’s over the next few years. So why am I here? I have quickly found that people within the property industry are incredibly friendly and generous with knowledge. Could anyone please point me in the direction of some further useful learning, wether this be books, podcasts or courses that really either inspired you or helped improve your property knowledge from a beginners point of view. I look forward to your response and wish to thank you in advance. Kindest regards, Grant.
  5. I'm thinking of studying for Level 3 (Residential Sales, Letting) Certificate through MOL Propertymark Qualifications Awards. Has anyone studied using these courses? I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has studied these courses or has thought about doing so. Are they worth doing?
  6. Just wondering along with the normal zoopla and rightmove etc apps, what are the best apps people have found for property? In terms of education? sourcing? law? tenants, tradesman or even property games? Looking for some other ways to better my education from my smartphone. cheers Phil
  7. Hey! As the title suggests I am looking for recommendations of resources of informations in regards to flipping and renovating houses. Anything from books, podcasts and websites would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Martin
  8. Hi, my name is Stephen I'm 22 and live in the Midlands. I've recently (last month or so) have been looking into property investing. I have next to no experience or knowledge or Captial. so it's looking to be a good few years before I can do anything. in the time while I think of ways to make the Captial to start. that gives me lots of time to Learn as much as I can. this is what brings me here. been listening to the podcast and love it! (any help is greatly appreciated) I plan to be a good active member on here not that I can offer much I'll try my best!
  9. Hi All. I was wondering what' the best way to learn about property investing? I've read a couple of Rob Dix books, which were great. I've also been on a 3-day workshop with Robbie Fowler's Property Academy / Legacy Education. This was a good course until they tried to sell me a mentor / further training for £26k - £40k. I'm really keen to get into this game but I'm a tad bit scared in case I totally mess up a deal and it end's up costing me money. Is this where the mentor is worth the big sum? So I don't mess up? Any advice or stories would help.
  10. I turn 19 next week and I've always dreamed to see myself well established in the Real estate business since i was younger, I got myself into the construction trade to train as a carpenter to try and make my dream a closer reality working alongside the boss, i'm still currently training. I've read a lot about flipping single family homes as that's where i see myself getting started but i'm not sure where to get started on building the funds. I will have £2000 next week to invest in gaining the funds through mutual funds, stocks and Real Estate Funds to split my risk and gain knowledge of different investments but i want to know where i should invest in Real estate to start off if these investments pay off so I can plan ahead for my future self. Any help would be much appreciated

  12. Hello Hubbers! I am a regular listener to the excellent property podcast but am yet to post to the community so I hope you can help! I am looking for some guidance on my next move along my property journey and would greatly appreciate any thoughts on my small dilemma. so I am 36 from Essex but I live overseas in the Caribbean for work. I have 5 BTL properties in the UK with 2 in Essex and 3 in Manchester that are all rented and yielding nicely. I like many of you out there have an increasing desire to move into property investment full time. I see no better alternative or faster route to financial freedom as long as you are educated, focused and willing to work hard. In order to move into property investment full time, I would want to immerse myself in the education of all the various strategies through courses, seminars, meet-ups and network events based around the UK as Rob and Rob organise themselves. In order to do this, I would have to relocate back to the UK which I don’t mind doing, as I think if done right it would only have to be for between 5-10 years before I was back in a 'time rich' position through passive income to once again leave for sunnier skies But here is the question. My job is not very transferable back to the UK so I would be looking at investing some savings into full-time education initially for the first say 6 months and then hoping to begin my first JV projects and raising finance etc without having an income from employment. So my question to the professional full time investors out there is can this be done or do I need to have an income for the first year or so while I am working on my first few projects for raising finance etc? My other option is to use my savings to start a separate business venture which would hopefully build up a sufficient income stream over a couple of years to enable me to take a step back and begin to divert my attention more on property with the benefit of an income as well. The risk with this is it will take time and it could not work out and I find that I have just bought myself another job!! Not good! I feel like any more time spent on anything other than property is a waste of time because nothing can make as much sense as property as I am sure you will all agree! BUT CAN SOMEONE START AND BECOME A PROFESSIONAL WITH LOTS OF THE RIGHT EDUCATION BUT ‘NO INCOME’?? I hope this all makes sense guys, and I would really really appreciate your feedback if you are in the business and can speak from experience. Thank you in advance!! Best of luck out there and a happy 2018! Regards Alex.
  13. Who wants to join me on a property course (booking includes bring a guest so im looking to split cost!) in Cambridge 28-30 July? I'm about to book a 3 day UK Property Investment course through Legacy. Despite reading on here about most of these course providers trying to push you into further courses; I still think it would be a good starting point for me (a novice) to gain some extra knowledge and be motivated enough to finally take the plunge on something I have been contemplating for far too long, which is investing in property... Going to the free seminar I have already realised that although the presenters are a bit pushy; the actual information provided is very useful and educational. It's rather expensive though at £997, although according to the schedule it is a full packed 9-7 each day and you do get to bring a guest included in the price. I would really like to do it, and just wondered if there is anyone on here interested in being my 'guest' and splitting the training cost? It is this coming weekend though so you've got to be able to be in Cambridge Friday-Sunday. Hope to hear from some of you soon.

  15. Hi fellow propertyhub.net members. My name is Mark Nicholls and I am new to the property industry and it is where I wish to head in terms of investment and employment. I am based out of Kent and due to my employment often find myself all over the UK. My main aim initially is education, learning and finding a mentor. If there are people out there that are able to assist with this, it will greatly appreciated. Best wishes Mark
