  1. I'm really struggling to find an accountant/adviser who specialises in FHLs (Furnished Holiday Lets). Does anyone who has an FHL portfolio have a personal recommendation please?

Just buying my first FHL in North Wales and keen to get a channel manager to support the bookings on the OTA's (e.g. Airbnb, Booking.com etc.) I am trying to figure out how they charge and note that many charge a monthly rate. Does this mean that I will get charged by the channel manager + whatever the charges are from the OTA. I also note that Booking.com is the priciest of them so think that they overall charges might be quite high per booking.
  3. Hi Everyone, Does anyone in the Glasgow area have any recommendations for FHL managers/cleaners? Thinking small, independent companies/individuals/teams that care and will engage promptly. Feel like I am losing a fair bit of control with current provider and with the level of saturation in the market and political uncertainty, I need a fresh approach!   5. Hi I am currently in the process of looking at a holiday let and first of all wondered if anyone had any experience? Would you recommend as a safe bet as part of a property portfolio (that also allows you to get some occasional use of) or is it a lot of hard work for little financial and personal gain? Also is the yield calculation the same? Secondly (and I think I know the answer to this)... we have just discovered that the one we were looking at is a Grade 2 listed building, which kind of puts me off! Would anyone touch a listed property as an investment? It's a beautiful property, in a lovely location (countryside, sea view, 10 min walk to beach etc) but has been on the market quite a while... and reduced twice. I'm guessing we have just discovered why..... Would be interested in your thoughts/pointers... as I am new to this! Thanks Ginger
  6. Hi I'm new to this and would like some advice: - How do I get my posts noticed?! I am not getting any responses... am I doing something wrong? - We are selling our property in London and plan to use the money to reinvest in BTL in the Midlands and beyond. - As a start I'm looking at a holiday let as an investment 1) because of the tax advantages and 2) my family and I can use it every now and then (so an investment with perks) - We have found one being sold as an ongoing business very close to Robin Hoods Bay in Yorkshire. Call it Karma, but we saw it when we were on holiday there at Easter and when I decided to look it up on RightMove several months later it was for sale! - But have a lot of questions.... 1, Can anyone advice on FHL?
