  1. Hi Would be grateful if anyone could recommend some good quality specialists for refurb work to be carried out. After the names of builders, roofers, plumbers, electricians and general handymen/women. Thanks in advance.

  3. Hi Hubbers, im new to the PH but looking for a reliable Local Handyman/Painter/Decorator in the Birmingham area who would be available to view prospective properties and quote for works required if necessary. This is due to myself being an investor at a distance, currently based in Manchester, it is not always possible for me to get down and view in time, hence this advert. I am more than willing to meet up in person; with the idea of building a longer-term business relationship, and obviously any completed viewings will be paid for. Please contact me on here and we can go from there. Kind regards, Owen
  4. Hi all, I'm in the process of setting up a rent to rent business, operating in East London. I am looking at getting together a list of tradesmen/contractors to assist with sprucing up the properties I acquire and wonder if anyone may be able to help. Is there any tradesmen (general handymen, decorators, carpet fitters, plumbers, electricians) anyone can recommend that operate in the East London area? Being London, I can imagine there are a lot of cowboys out there and am just a little cautious. Also, has anyone had any experience with using the Task Rabbit app to help with light refurb/general handyman tasks and if so, how did you get on? Thanks for your time. Charlie
  5. Looking for recommendations for a good plumber and electricians (ideally both in one) in south London (Clapham/ Tooting area) I need the following looked at: - under the sink pipes re-worked and re-fitted - plumbing a dishwasher - wiring into the mains a dishwasher - fixing outside lights (wiring) - fixing ceiling lights (wiring) Any recommendations would be amazing!! Cheers Phil
  6. Hi Guys, I have started with my first BTL propety. It is based in Crewe and I will be managing it myself, just to save money for the deposit for next one. I am based in South and thus looking for contacts/recommendation of good handyman, contractor who should be able to do small fixes, etc. Any suggestion from you guys, where should I look or how should I get hold of any decent person. Thank you very much in advance.
  7. Hi all, I first subscribed to the Hub in December and only just got round to the forums as I've been listening to the podcasts and reading Beyond the Bricks - twice! Not to mention the new magazine which is FAB. My Other Half (Nige) and I have been learning about property investment for a few years now but lots of family "stuff" has got in the way and meant we just haven't been able to get serious about it, although things are changing for the better now so we are getting our strategy together. My background is 20+ years in engineering bossing blokes around (always fun), and then I retrained and became one of the very few (1-2%) female plumbers in the UK. I also do general handyWOman(!) work and help to co-ordinate other trades (just more bossing-about really!). So this is going to be mega-useful when it comes to doing refurbs/flips, which we hope to concentrate on to start. I am happy to help if I can with advice on any plumbing issues, so please ask!
