Evening all Chris here, a UK expat in HK. I’ve got a few properties in the U.K. (mainly London at the moment but exploring options back home in my Northern homeland). I am looking to kick on with my investments to move away from my current career into property full time within c5 years. Keen to be connected to fellow HK investors to build my network, share ideas and explore collaboration opportunities. Look forward to hearing from you! Cheers Chris

Hi all, So I'm a British citizen and I'm due to marry somebody with a Hong Kong citizenship (and BNO). I am currently living in Hong Kong and have plans to return to the UK to build upon my property portfolio. I have plans to apply for a joint mortgages with my soon to be spouse and build the portfolio together. Would my wife-to-be need to have British citizenship before we can apply for a joint mortgage, or will she be able to apple with her BNO regardless? Rayman

Hi everyone, My name is Rayman and I'm an expat currently based in Hong Kong. Thought I'd take action and drop a line in the forums to introduce myself. Aside from introductions, I'm also keen to find out whether the meet ups will continue in Hong Kong once Covid-19 eases? Eager to meet a group of people who's equally keen as I when it comes to podcasts and the Property Hub! Rayman

Hi all! I am glad to finally drop a line in this forum to introduce myself, after going through the whole back log of Property podcast... As it says in the title, I am a French citizen, leaving in Hong Kong for many years now. I have been familiarising myself with the UK property market so one day I could start diversify my property portfolio and invest overseas. My current portfolio is per below: A one bed flat near Disneyland Paris, bought off-plan in 2011, delivered in 2013 A two bed flat in Eastern Paris suburb, bought from a relative in 2017 A studio in Paris 10th arrondissement, to be refurbished and transform is a small 2 bed flat, purchased should finalise this month (Apr 2019) A 3 bed flat in Hong Kong, bought in 2019, main place of residence. I am specifically interested in the UK market because of the resilience of the economy, and strenght of the legal system. I also like the mortgage products available to property investors. In France, the model is very different, we have long tenure fixed rates, up to 25 years, but most of the mortgages are capital repayments, so very difficult to achieve positive monthly cashflows. I am primarily looking at northern England, and maybe Scotland for my first deal in the UK. I would be happy to help contribute on French property investment related topics. Anyhow, looking forward to chat further in this forum, A bientot!

Hello Everybody, I'm a full-time UK property investor specialising in HMOs, Mixed Use Semi Commercial, and Blocks of Flats. Happy to share knowledge in those areas. I've been mostly invested in the Gloucestershire / South West area. For those of you based out in Hong Kong, I'm in town for a few days and hoping to connect with investors out here with an interest in investing in the UK. I've already had the pleasure of catching up with some investors from the HK meetup I attended earlier this month. If anyone else fancies a meetup over coffee or lunch etc, I'll be around until Monday 27th August, flying out in the evening. Feel free to email or WhatsApp me if you fancy meeting up: chee@haohaoproperty.com +44 7779 335657 Kindest Regards, Chee

Hi team, Been sneaking around on this forum for a while now reading all the great content so would like to introduce myself. I'm currently based in Hong Kong and am looking to add to a 2 bed terrace I have in Plymouth (my hometown) which I own outright. My aim is to move back to the UK in around 3-5 years time. Currently I have around 100k good to go for deposit(s) and I'd like to invest that in some 2-4 100K BTL properties during the next 12 months before gradually adding more to that fledgling portfolio before I return. I have my eye on one more flat in Plymouth and am also open to investing through agents elsewhere. My long term goal is to buy a holiday let setup to move back to in around 3-5 years time (whether that be a campsite, hotel/B&B, or cottages), at which point I could also do some develop and flip investing at the same time (as I could take a more hands on approach). As many expats here have also found, a big snag to phase 1 is financing whilst not in the UK. As an expat so I'd love to hear the thoughts/tactics of any other expats who have managed to successfully finance whilst away. I'd also be interested to hear if any expats have created Ltd companies or anything of that type to help them buy. Finally, I'm also lucky enough to have my parents who could act as guarantor for me whilst away - does anyone know if that would help with finance? Really enjoying the forum and am planning to attend the HK meetups in future!

I am new to The Property Hub, and not so new to property investment. I bought my first property (in Spain) some 20 years ago and my last one (so far) in London a few months ago. Nowadays not only I invest in property, but I help others investing, developing and managing their properties in, mostly, the London area ... so happy to meet you all and I look forward to connect! Ah, and by the way, I happen to be in Hong Kong these days (to celebrate the Chinese New Year) so keen on meeting like-minded people interested in the UK property market. Talk to you soon. Alex

I'm gonna need a lot of advice from you all and can't wait I'm 29 years old and I'm working in Hong Kong right now as an estate agent specialising in commercial properties. Is there anyone from Hong Kong? Would love to say hi and get together in the upcoming meetup! Very excited and looking forward to learning from you all! Best regards Cathy

I am excited to meet like minded individuals who wish to live the life of their choice by securing sufficient passive income. I am a single mom who has lived in HK for a long time. My children each have UK passports although I am originally from Canada. I recently attended a Rich Dad workshop and am now pursuing my dream of securing a financial future for myself and a legacy for my children. I have never felt comfortable investing and one of my goals is to set an example for my children and to teach them so they are not like me at my age. Hong Kong property is ridiculous with people paying upwards to 300-450,000 pounds for a flat the size of a carpark. Thus investing here is not nor ever will be an option. Instead I live on a boat. I believe real estate will be the vehicle for mu future. Another class mate and I will be working together each week (accountability) to achieve our own goals and I look forward to learning from, sharing, leveraging and receiving support from the network. FYI I am not Chinese, nor am I independently wealthy. I have my own business doing managing consulting and established a healing centre using sound called Red Doors Studio (please like and friend me on FB)
