Unpaid rent

Hello,

I have a tenant who hasn't paid rent this year. They were served notice which was due to move them on Apr but COVID-19 prevented this. They have been reluctant to speak to my letting agent (only calling when the shower caused a leak).  I have been told I cannot contact them directly as that would be seen as harassing.

 

I wonder if those in the know could offer a suggestion on what could be done in the current climate.

Are Tenants basically on free rent for 1 year with no repercussions?
