propajit 0
Hi All We are planning to build a two storey extension for our new property based in Maidenhead. Please find the existing and proposed layout received from the architect attached. Our plan is to build a double storey, full length five meter extension . The current property has a diagnol fence (brown line) that connects with the garage. We are informed that the double storey extension cannot be extended to the entire length of the house due to the existing fence and shared driveway. This is resulting in a loss of 1264 mm on both levels (Green area) and a smaller fourth bedroom on first floor. We would highly appreciate if you can please share your thoughts or experiences if you had a similar situation? Many Thanks Link to post
julia urquhart 155
Turn your extension around 90 degrees and go for a longer but narrower extension. Same size rooms just different orientation. Mark Rocks 1 Link to post
alastairkennedy 20
/ The current property has a diagnol fence (brown line) that connects with the garage. I'm interested to know why the fence can't be removed and the extension widened - is this just the loss of access/turning to bring a vehicle into the garage, a covenant on the title, or boundary / shared ownership on the title ?
