Has anyone attended one of the highly advertised online property training courses ?

Did you get value for money?

I once went to a free two day course. Still wasn't worth the money and nothing that hadn't been done by the same person on YouTube.

That's bus fare I'm never getting back...

Could I ask which course you are referring to? There are some courses that **might** be worth it.

However, 95% of property courses do the following:

  • Provide basic information (most of which is available for free or low cost)
  • Some examples of deals. The numbers will be made up - I promise you, they are
  • The opportunity to connect with like minded individuals. This part could be worthwhile
  • An upsell to their (stupidly expensive) mentorship program

Given that property courses normally costs upward of £1,000, it's not worth it in my view..

I have a blog with tons of free articles on UK property - Link here. My suggestion is to exhaust free resources, and then decide if you still want to go on a course..

Out of interest @james_69 did you get any information that you couldn't have gotten from free sources such as the fantastic content produced by property hub (disclaimer: I am responsible for lots of the content produced by property hub and therefore incredibly biased).

The reason I ask is, we will totally make that content and provide it for free. I know it sounds a bit idealistic, but we genuinely want to give everyone access to free information about property investing because we think it's a route to financial freedom and long-term wealth.

Totally agree with Matt Rocks comment that’s so much free information from experience people out there, I don’t think you need to pay for it

Agreed.  When I first started I just sat online and searched for information.  Watched lots of youtube videos and established those channels that were there just to funnell you into paying vs those who were normal people offering good information.

Lets face it, there is no rocket science in buying a house and renting it out.... it's the easiest thing in the world.
