Thank you. That was very useful... Talk about reading the label before attempting to build the Ikea flat pack thingumabob... But, like most people we jump in before reading ...

My only comment is that I would, by default enable notifications from any post you reply to or any new topic you create.

Hi Rob, sorry to be a pain! But I have every notification setting ticked, but i'm not getting any notifications through - I have go to check the forum if I want to see if anyone's replied to me etc. What am I doing wrong? Thanks :-)

Well, I'm stumped...you seem to have everything set up exactly right so I don't know why you're not getting the emails.

I've just done the classic IT trick of "turn it off and back on again" on your profile from the admin side, so let's hope that makes a difference because you're definitely not doing anything wrong. Sorry about this!

Thanks! I am getting the daily digest emails now, so that's great. I have ticked to get notifications 'immediately' and am not - but the digest will do fine! Thanks!

Hi Rob,

I am relatively new to your platform and still looking around.

One thing I wanted to suggest though,  from the Bigger Pockets platform in the USA - (where I have been an active member for a few years and finding it an invaluable resource)- is something they call "keyword alerts"

Every user can define up to 5 key words- meaning that every time one of these words is mentioned in a post a mail is sent to the user- with a direct link, a short quote of the sentence, topic and who is posting.

For example I have held  SFR's in Detroit so my key words could be "Detroit", "Mchigan" , "single family", "property management" etc - you get the picture.

This is a really incredibly useful feature which takes the participation in the forums to a whole new level.

At the moment I find I am having to dig around a lot over here to find topics that interest me,  whereas this feature pushes the information to me- It also helps me build my network as I am often coming across the same users with concurring fields of interest and we connect.

Not sure what the back office  technology requirements would be - but I would highly recommend looking into it.

Thanks.
