How on earth did we make it to Episode 46 without talking about HMOs? They’ve become a hot topic in recent years as investors have started to focus on cashflow rather than capital growth. So, we thought we’d better correct our omission and give them a full episode.
We talk about anything and everything you could possibly want to know about HMOs.
It’s one of those topics that stirs up strong reactions on both sides, so take a listen and let us know which side of the fence you fall on!
(Also, an apology: we said in the episode that to be an HMO there need to be two different households sharing a kitchen and bathroom; we meant a kitchen or bathroom. See here for a more comprehensive definition.)
Thank you to the unofficial sponsor of this section, Hub member Guy Routledge, who’s dug out another great resource for us.
This week it’s Lodger App, which is a new web app to help you manage your rental properties.
Until recently, software for landlords has been pretty clunky, so although we’ve not tried this one out yet it’s nice to see some new, well-designed offerings targeting this market. Give it a go and let us know what you think!
We finally get to talk about the Property Hub Launch Party this week- what a fantastic afternoon! We had a great time meeting as many people, new and old, as we could, and thank you so much to everyone who spent a rare sunny Saturday afternoon with us. It really brought home why we do this in the first place.
