Our favourite things of 2014

This week we’re talking about our favourite things of the year. So if you like our “resource of the week” section, you’re in for a treat!

We run though a whole lot of books, podcasts, apps and websites that we’ve discovered or particularly enjoyed in 2014, and here’s the full list…

  • PocketPulse and Evernote (article reading)
  • Any Pomodoro app (productivity – just search “pomodoro” in the App store or Play store)
  • Duolingo (language learning)
  • Trello (everything!)
  • Slack (instant messaging)
  • Assistant.to (scheduling)
  • Mailbox (better email) Note: this is no longer available.

There you go…just a few bits for you to check out!

As of the start of December, landlords in some areas of the West Midlands are now legally responsible for checking the immigration status of their tenants.

But don’t feel left out if your properties are elsewhere – it’s coming to the rest of the country soon!

Much as it’s another annoying bit of legislation, the government does at least provide a useful tool to help you comply, which you’ll find here.
