  1. Hi all,

Lovely to start my journey with you guys!

My name is David, I currently live in Newcastle upon Tyne and have done for the past 18 years.

I work offshore building, maintaining, servicing and possibly soon commissioning wind turbines.

I've been wanting to buy property for the past 10 years but never had an income that enabled me to do this. Over the past 10 years I've learnt most of the trades, so I'd definitely be more hands on, however, time constraints will looking at getting other people in.

So far I've done various work/jobs, renovated 2 properties (one being my current home) lots of decorating, bathrooms, electrical installations etc. But decided I could earn more money doing what I do now to fund my property empire.

Main area I'd like to invest in is the North East, Newcastle to start. Future plans to move further a field once I've learnt and developed skills. My first goal is to ensure I have a suitable income to give up my day job and become a full time landlord/investor.

Not sure what skill set I have that could be of benefit to anyone as my trade work I only do for myself. But have access to a couple of plasterers, window fitters, Joiner, electrician and builders (the later I am yet to use, but will do and give recommendations if they meet a good standard - Family member) I do also know someone who runs/owns a metal fabrication company and window frame manufacturer.

I have a load of questions! Started the podcasts.....WOW! Slowly getting through, there's so much info very overwhelmed.  Bought all the books so far that's been recommended.

This year i want to get my property rented out and buy another small property which I can get rented too.

So yeah, that's me so far. If anyone can point me in the right direction of where to look start etc that would be amazing!

    Sorry long intro...

    Many thanks in advance,
