Manchester Madness

I have been trying to buy a place in a few different areas in Manchester now and everytime I go to viewings it has been like a football crowd of people waiting to view. I have been offering a little over asking price, showing I have everything in place in the content of the offer, but consistently unsuccessfully. Are other people finding Manchester this competitive? Any advice as to how to get a good deal, or do other investors pay a lot over the asking price if the figures still stack up?
